The short movie ELI starts with ELI himself lying on an operating table and immediately panicking and scaping when he realizes he is being opreated on, while being awake.
After fleeing into an office, he discovers that he seems to be trapped inside some AIDS research laboratory and makes an encounter with a doctor, who asks him about what he remembers. ELI himself discoveres a tattoo saying "ELI" on his hand, and has a flashback about a girl in bikini on the beach.
Soon nurses and security personal begin to hunt ELI down, until the protagonist manages to follow seemingly a nurse through a door and into a mysterious office.
The nurse turns out to be an office worker, and after ELI describes his vision of the woman on the beach looking a lot like her, the woman offers him her card to be able to escape and open doors.
When ELI explains that he remembers the beach and that he needs to find the woman from his memories, the office employee tells him to run for the fire escalator instead and escape the building.
Instead of scaping from the building, ELI, tortured by the pieces of memories that haunt him and leave him with nothing but questions, starts to search for answers. He runs from the security personal chasing him, after he finally encounters door 173. When trying to open the door, he gets electroshocked by the doctor he met before.
He gets dragged downstairs, where all his flashbacks and memories start to complete the puzzle in front of him.
Down in the cellar of the building, he discovers what seems like clones of himself. But when ELI finally understands, that his entire existence is only to experiment on him, he gets caught and put back to coma.
